    FlexFriday: Recycled Runway!

On Friday, April 19th, as an early Earth Day celebration, Bronxville students and staff will participate in a “Recycled Runway” activity on campus. In groups of 2 or 3, students will design and model an ensemble worthy of a fashion runway…using exclusively recycled and upcycled materials!

Throughout the week, students and staff are encouraged to bring in clean recycling materials from home (think: cardboard boxes, aluminum foil, plastics, newspapers, gift wrap), crafting materials (stickers, fabric paints or pens, elastic bands, fabric glue, etc.), and any spare clean fabric such as old clothing or bedding ready for donation. Students will also have access to any recycling and art supplies found on campus.

  • FlexFridays: Park Ranger Adventure

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, located near Las Vegas, Nevada, is a historic site steeped in rich history and natural beauty. Once owned by the German actress and rancher Vera Krupp as well as magnate Howard Hughes, the property was transformed into a working ranch with a luxurious touch. The ranch features picturesque landscapes, including sprawling pastures and dramatic mountain backdrops, making it a popular destination for both nature lovers and history enthusiasts. Today, visitors can explore the preserved ranch house, various hiking trails, and enjoy the serene environment that once served as a retreat for one of Las Vegas's most intriguing figures.

Cloud FlexFriday students will join David Low, law enforcement ranger, for a tour of the park and some history and background about its unique features and environmental importance, followed by an AMA-style question and answer session.
