    FlexFriday: The Cloud Demystified

The (Computer) Cloud / Demystifying The Cloud - Brendan Hemingway

A multidisciplinary look at the well-known and rarely considered computing phenomenon we call “the cloud.” Very much NOT simply a tech talk, we will look at the history behind the cloud, the business model that shaped the technology, and the difference between science and technology.

Bring your social anthropology curiosity, your capitalist tendencies, and your poetic worldview as we discuss a computing classic (Mark Twain’s definition).

Like her book, Warren’s presentation is non-graphic and straightforward, in spite of covering some very difficult material. Even the most sensitive of students will be captivated by Jack and his bravery. For more information about the author and her books, go to AndreaWarren.com or www.InkThinkTank.com.
