Media Production Class Publishes Website

Crystal Marcus-Kanesaka
The Bronxville School's Media Production Class took on a big challenge this past Quarter. They produced a Media Production Website all by themselves. The students were asked to partner as a team for group work. They self-assigned jobs and expected each other to be positive contributors in their assigned roles. The assigned roles ranged from Project Manager, to Site Map Designer, Art Manager, Asset Manager, Producer/Writer, Design Editor, Copy Editor, or also Tech Support. They underwent several Peer Review processes and graded each other using a Group Work Peer Review Grading Rubric. In this way they supported each other in contributions that worked and continually assessed how to better contribute as they moved along and brought the project toward completion.

We can all probably agree the website they built is pretty cool, but what’s even cooler is the skills they’ve learned along the journey of the build. In building this website, they all built skills toward independent and interdependent executive functioning. They’ll utilize these skills for years to come and on into the future moving forward.
