FlexSchool is specifically designed to help smart and quirky kids thrive. Students at our Berkeley Heights, NJ campus enjoy in-person learning led by a team of educators who understand the unique needs of gifted and twice-exceptional (GT/LD) students.

Our Programs

Elementary (Grades 2-5)

Gifted and 2e elementary students enjoy taking deep dives into intellectually stimulating topics and collaborating with classmates.

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

Gifted and 2e students in grades 6-8 engage in small-group discussions and experiential learning among their intellectual peers in a nurturing environment.

High School (Grades 9-12+)

Gifted and 2e students in grades 9–12 engage with intellectual peers in high-level discourse, advanced academics, college preparation, and in-depth experiential learning. Berkeley Heights offers both a post-graduate year and High School Extension program to FlexSchool students and transfer students. These programs are designed to provide an additional year of academic and social-emotional growth for students who would like an additional year of preparation before pursuing post-secondary opportunities.

Campus Life

Location

Our Berkeley Heights campus is easy to access from many major highways and features a variety of community resources within walking distance. Our neighbors include the Wharton School for Performing Arts, as well as the Berkeley Heights YMCA. Snyder Avenue Park is a few blocks away, where students enjoy gym class activities in the warmer months.

Classrooms

Our bright and spacious building combines open-concept classrooms with walled classrooms. We offer comfortable seating options such as couches and bean bags, along with conventional tables and chairs.

Community Spaces

Berkeley Heights students have access to four community spaces, including an outdoor patio. In these areas, students are invited to take breaks and socialize.

Events

FlexSchool students enjoy a variety of community events such as talent shows, presentations, and guest speakers at our Berkeley Heights campus. Past events have included the student-organized celebration of the arts, FlexibleFestival, and our Fall Fest fundraiser.

Students from all over New Jersey have found their fit at our Berkeley Heights Campus. FlexSchool’s admissions department is experienced at working with district placements and is able to provide the necessary paperwork for school choice.
