Field trip to the Tenement Museum

On Friday, November 17th, students will take a field trip to New York City's Tenement Museum! At the museum, students will explore themes of immigration through building tours. In particular, students will visit the recreated apartment exhibits of the Gumpertz family in the 1870s and the Wong family in the 1970s to explore community, work, and immigration in two different centuries. Mrs. Gumpertz and Mrs. Wong both worked in the garment industry and raised families in tenements, and their stories will help us explore patterns and differences across time.

Please come prepared with a packed lunch!
Transportation will depart promptly at 9 AM
